The Pains taken by him to write and publish this book is enormous. Amman Publications was launched in Chennai in the year 1978 and has been leading the way in Spiritual Publishing since then till now. Amman sathiyanathan,  speaks to Maniyosai.com on how Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu turned his pathetic life to colorful life.

Can you give a brief introduction about your Childhood days?
I was born in an orthodox Brahmin family in Veerachozhapuram near Tirukovilur in Tamilnadu. I was said by my Parents about my Spiritual interest at very tender age. I used to participate in Aradhana festival of Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu, held every year in the month of August,  at nearby Raghavendra Mutt. Naturally, I got a Very deep interest on Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu. I completed my Graduation, staying at my uncle's place at Nanganallur.
We heard that it was through the mercy of Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu, you survived at the time of destress. Can you narrate the incident in detail?
After completing my Graduation, I got a Job in a private concern in Chennai. As My office was far away from Nanganallur, where i used to stay then, I shifted to a small bachelor Mansion in Royapettah. I took my younger brother along with me, keeping in mind his future. I was poorly paid at that time. I had no means to make both the ends meet. At this time, another unfortunate incident happened. One day, I was sleeping at my mansion as I was not feeling well. A guy rushed to me and told a news which made me to faint. It seems a car had hit my younger brother very badly and He was in a critical condition. We rushed to Royapettah Government Hospital where he was admitted. Nobody had any clues about the car which had hit him. I had absolutely no options about what to be done. My head started reeling. I prayed to Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu that I would come to Mantralayam to do 'Sankalp seva' if my brother survived. After brief investigation at the accident spot, I came to know that a nearby shopkeeper was smart enough to make a note of the Registration number of the car, which had mercilessly hit my brother. The car owner was a rich businessman in the city. He pleaded me that everything was his mistake and He would pay the medical expenses. By the grace of Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu, My Brother passed the critical condition. However, He had to be hospitalised for 6 months. In the Meantime, I had to go to court frequently to attend the ongoing accident case. I was mentally tired and I felt really bad to visit court often. I was said that if my brother accepted that the whole mistake was on his part, we would be let off from the case. I felt that it was the need of that hour. When the trial came into court for hearing, My brother followed the instruction given to him carefully and told that, amman sathiyanathan with sushmeendrarHe was responsible for the accident. The case successfuly came to an end. When I cheerfully came out, I was shocked to see the car owner missing. I walked a long way to meet him at his shop. On seeing me, He took Two hundred rupees currency notes from his pocket and gave me. I asked what the money meant for. I asked, How He could give just Rs.200 when I had spent in thousands to save my brother's life. He said me that there was no mistake on his part. And, My brother was responsible for the accident. He also told me that, My brother himself had written this in his  statement, So, I could not do anything legally. When I protested, He pushed me outside and closed the gate. I was really shocked by this incident. I had borrowed several thousands to meet the medical expenses. I was confused about what to be done. Tears rolled down from my eyes. I came to a conclusion that there was no point in living in this World. I thought that it was my duty to finish the 'Sankalp Seva' before I commit suicide. I took my friend Seshagiri Rao to Mantrlayam. I had no money to take a cottage. I had to stay in Cloak room. Next day, I started my 'Sankalp Seva' . (It is believed that Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu comes in one's Dream to show the right solution for any problem, for which his Guidance is sought, at the time of Sankalp Seva. Sankalp Seva could be done according to the comfort of the devotee, ie, 3 days, 5 days etc. 48 days has been considered as One Mandalam to do any such Pujas. Sankalp Seva could be done by anybody irrespective of Caste or religion. Sankalp Seva could be done in Mantralayam or in your local Raghavendra Swamy Mutt or at your home itself. Strict Brahmacharyam should be followed at the time of Sankalp Seva. An idol or Picture of Sri Raghavendra Swamy should be placed at the middle of the room, So that, Pradhakshana could be done easily. Non vegetarian diet should be avoided. Onion, Garlic, Drumstick are prohibited on the days of Sankalp seva. Meals should be avoided at night. Instead fruits could be consumed. Devotee should not use bed and Pillow. He/She should lay down. Women should strictly avoid doing Sankalp Seva on the days of Menstruation. Further details on Sankalp seva could be had from the First volume of the book 'Sri Raghavendra Mahimai' in Tamil or 'The Saint of Mantralaya' in English. These books are written and Published by Mr.Amman.H.Sathiyanathan. Price of the book is Rs.140/-.  Chennaites could get the copies from the Brindavana enterprises showroom located opposite Sri Raghavendra Brindavana in Triplicane. Address is not published here to protect the privacy of the Publisher. However, it could be mailed to you on request to editor@maniyosai.com )   I strictly followed the procedures and did that with true devotion. I had a plan to end my life after completing the Seva. I was sitting with my friend at the temple Prakara on the final evening of My Sankalp Seva.
An Old Man came beside me. His appearance was majestic. On the first sight of that Man, I felt like falling on his feet. But, I could not do so, as one should not fall on anybody's feet before completing the Seva. He asked 'It seems you are in some deep agony.' I said, 'Yes Swamy. May I know which is your native?'

He replied 'I have no such native place. But I am in this Mantralaya town for a long time.'

I was surprised. I asked 'Is that so? You must have known more about Sri Raghavendra Swamigalu. Can you tell me about his life and Miracles done by him?'
'Why Not' he quickly replied and sat beside me and started telling the real life stories of Rayaru. He spoke with us for about One and half hours. As the time passed, I got relieved from the mental agony. I started thinking that Why I should die. It was time for that old man to leave.
He asked, 'Can you do me a favour?' I was prepared to do whatever he asked. My friend suspected that old man and pinched me on my hands to signal me to escape. I said to that old man, 'OK. What should I do for you?' 'I require Saffron dhoti. That too, from the shop I recommend.' My friend again pinched me. We went along with him to the dhoti shop. He started selecting his favourite piece of dhoti. I had a fear about What to be done if the price of the dhoti exceeds the amount I had.
I informed my friend to stay with him in the shop, so that, I could go to Cloak room to bring some money. In the cloak room, I didn't even count the money I had. I just kept the money required for return journey aside and ran to the shop with the bag of coins. By that time, the Old Man had selected his dhoti. I gave the coin bag to the shopkeeper. He counted the coins carefully. He re counted. The process repeated thrice. He asked me, 'Had you been to this shop before to enquire the price of this dhoti?'

'No. This is the first time I come here.' I answered him. He was shocked and asked me how i knew the exact price of dhoti. The price of dhoti the old man selected was Rs. 8.35. I had given him Rs.8.35/-. How this was possible. The Old man smiled gently and made a move. I felt like crying and shout the Holy name of 'Sri Raghavendra.'
